The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, and the Omani Cycling Federation, organize the Salalah Cycling Tour in the Governorate of Dhofar during the period from 13-17 September. Spreading sports in the various governorates and contributing to the tourism promotion of the Governorate of Dhofar.
The Salalah Cycling Tour in Dhofar Governorate is considered the first calendar of the new sports season 2021/2022. The Competition Committee of the Oman Cycling Association issued the program for the new sports season 2021/2022, which will start on September 13 and the season will continue until April 1, 2022, and includes a number of tournaments. These include the General Road Bike League, the Mountain Bike League, and Open Rafting and Racing. The competitions will start with the Salalah Cycling Tour from September 13-17, while the second championship in the ladder of the Union’s competitions will be with the first race of the General Cycling League Championship on September 24 in Al-Sawadi region, followed by the first round of the Ministry of Culture Shield Championship. Sports and youth cycling will be held on the first of next October in the Wadi Al-Abyad region. The second round of the Ministry Shield championship will be held on the 8th of next October in the Al-Sarin – Jahlout – Quriyat area, then the second race of the general league championship will be held on October 16 in the Wilayat of Tyre.
In November, the Musandam Cycling Championship will be held on November 5, while the third race of the General League Championship will be held in Al Sawadi region on November 12, and on November 19 the first race of the Mountain Bike Championship will be held in the old village of Al Khoud. On the fourth of next December, the fourth race of the General League for Cycling will be held in the Wilayat of Nizwa, followed by the fifth race for the General League for Cycling on the 10th of the same month in Al-Rumais. On December 17, the Sohar Cycling Championship will be held, and on December 31 the second race will be held Al Irfan Mountain Bike Championship.
As for the month of January, it will also include 3 races, the first of which will be held on the seventh of the month with the holding of the sixth race of the General Cycling League Championship in the region of Quriyat – Jahlout – Daghr – Quriyat. The second competition will be held on the eleventh of the same month, the Duqm Championship. On January 22, the race will be held The third mountain bike championship in Qantab region. Next February, the seventh race of the General Cycling League Championship will be held on February 4 in the village of Wakan – Wadi Mistel, and the fourth race of the Mountain Bike Championship will be held on the 11th of the same month at Al Motafa Camp. The month of March begins with holding the eighth and final race of the General Cycling League Championship on March 11 at the Civil Aviation Authority, and on March 25 the third round of the Ministry’s Shield Championship will be held. The Oman Cycling Federation will conclude its competitions for the season 2021-2022 by holding the fourth and final round of the Ministry of Culture and Sports’ Shield Championship Youth cycling on the first of next April.
