His Excellency Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Main Committee of the Competition, confirmed that the Clubs Competition for Cultural Creativity will be launched this year with a new name and a renewed perspective that seeks to achieve a vision of young people who believe in their abilities and capabilities and are aware of their roles and responsibilities in the development of their society.
During the press conference held on Tuesday to announce the details of the competition, His Excellency said that the competition keeps pace with the digital world in order to serve the areas of “Oman 2040” vision, in which the youth will have a major role in achieving its goals. His Excellency explained that cultural activities are among the most important programs that touch the aspirations of young people and contribute to building their knowledge and intellectually. He added that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth is the body that supports the cultural programs in the clubs, pointing out that moving forward to activate these activities in the clubs has become a necessary requirement in order to create a cultural movement among the youth of the clubs, and through partnership with governmental and community institutions.
And about the prizes accompanying the competition, Hisham bin Juma’a Al-Sinani, director of the competition, deputy head of the committee, stated that it is represented in the award for the best youth committee at the governorate level and then at the level of the Sultanate, as well as the award for the best media team, where the first stage is at the level of Clubs and sports centers, which is from October 1 to December 31 of this year. As for the second stage, the competition will be at the governorate level during the period from February 1 to February 28, 2022, and finally the Sultanate’s finals, which will be during March 2022.
Al-Sinani said that the competition this season targets two age groups, the first category is from 10 to 16 years old, where the two categories compete in two areas; which are: the short story and the “Omaniat” cultural competition. As for the second age group, between 17 and 30 years old, it is witnessing a competition in 8 fields: eloquent poetry, theater “diodrama” (or duo theatre), folk arts, plastic arts (drawing), telephone photography, short films, smartphone applications, and technical innovation. Al-Sinani explained that the competition is divided into 4 parts; They are cultural and literary, performing arts, visual arts, technology and innovation, noting that the competition is working to achieve the objectives set by the main committee of the competition to apply, the most important of which is activating the institutional work in the clubs, promoting the values of Omani citizenship and identity, developing the capabilities and skills of the participants, as well as discovering and highlighting youth talents and working to refine and develop them.
Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Busaidi, a member of the main committee of the competition, said that there are 5 areas within the areas of the competition, in which the qualifications will be in 3 stages; They are: the short story, the cultural competition (Omanites), the eloquent poetry, the folk arts and the theater, where the first-place winner qualifies from each club or center, and qualifies to compete in the second stage at the governorate level, provided that the first-place winner qualifies to the last stage, in which the qualifiers are on The Sultanate level, while the first place winner at the club or center level will be sent to the main committee in Muscat to be sorted and evaluated by the jury.
The committee has set conditions for registration in the competition, the most prominent of which is that the work must be personally created by the participant and if it is proven that the work in which the participant has copied, or not produced by the participant; The competition committee has the right to exclude him from participation, withdraw the work, or withdraw the prize in the event of his victory, and take the necessary measures in this regard. Also, any submitted work must not infringe the rights of any author, trademark, any moral rights, privacy rights, advertising or intellectual property rights of any party or person. The main committee of the competition has the right to publish, use or participate in any submitted work as it deems appropriate with The participant retains the intellectual property of the work, and the participants in the competition must obtain licenses and approvals from the relevant government agencies in the Sultanate before submitting participation in any stage of the competition.
