The International Football Association “FIFA” holds a number of large competitions that includes countries around the world.
The committee’s responsibility is to manage and organize e-sports and games affairs in all administrative, financial, technical and organizational aspects in accordance with the plans and programs approved by the ministry. It will also develop plans and programs necessary for the dissemination of e-sports in the Sultanate, raising its level, and developing it technically by taking into account modern scientific and technical foundations while still following international rules, regulations and principles. The committee also organizes competitions, tournaments and matches between players and supervises their implementation. With the Ministry’s approval, it will lay the necessary foundations, rules as well as grants title, winning centers and prizes. The committee is specialized in preparing the national teams that represent the Sultanate in international, continental, regional and other tournaments while supervising their training in accordance with the approved plans and programs in coordination with the competent authorities..
The Sultanate has been interested in e-sports for a long time; It has organized many national tournaments, Oman PlayStation Championship being one of the largest tournaments since 2016. The Sultanate is in foreign championships and has many achievements, the most important of which was the Omani University Sports Committee player Omran Al-Dahli winning first place in the World University Championship for Electronic Games.
The committee was formed under the chairmanship of Majid bin Abdullah Al-Silti, Abdul Rahman bin Saeed Al-Adawi as Secretary, and the membership of Asma bint Saeed Al-Yahya, Mustafa bin Salem Al-Ajmi and Al-Miqdam bin Ahmed Al-Adawi.
