The Ministry Honors Occidental Oman

In recognition of its support of the school sports days program, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth honor Occidental Oman.

A special award was presented to Occidental Oman for sponsoring and supporting the school sports days program implemented by the ministry represented by the Department of Qualitative Bodies of the General Directorate of Sports Activities in 2019/2020. H.E. Sheikh Rashad bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Undersecretary for Sports and Youth, presented a commemorative shield to the company on behalf of Saif bin Khalfan Al Busaidi, Vice President of Human Resources, Administration and Social Responsibility. Moreover, as part of its tenth edition, the company sponsored the school sports days program, in which 3,732 students from 79 private schools in Muscat participated. The students participated in 15 sports, including basketball, badminton, swimming, beach volleyball, road racing, athletics, futsal, challenge and adventure, and bowling. These festivals were held to an athletics festival, a football festival, a basketball festival, and another handball festival.

The Winning Schools:-

Moreover, the winning schools in the first three ranks were honored according to the points awarded by private, international schools, and diaspora. Among the private schools, Durrat Al Khaleej Private School achieved the highest points total, which is 945 points. The second place was won by Al Huda Private School with 887 points, while the third place was al Hail Private School with 670 points.

Program Overview:-

The School Sports Days Program is designed to organize sports programs that aim to refine and show the sports talents of young players. Through a continuous league, which gives students a range of education and encouragement to participate and increases the enthusiasm of young players to have a positive impact in the society, where the aims of the program to pay attention to school sports and diversify its programs to serve the needs of these students.

Activating the role of private schools for what it’s special about their sports facilities and faculty, as well as be attentive to what these schools produce to be tributaries to training centers for young people. Additionally, promoting the concept of competition and sports as an outlet outside of the school day. Also, promoting the concept of competition and sports as an outlet outside of the school day. Moreover, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth should use its facilities to help schools establish such sports days permanently. Additionally, it introduces students to the legal stadiums, as well as integrates sports days participants with prominent sports figures, and shows them around the Sultanate.

The program targeted the student’s games group from 10 to 17 years old and individual games from 10 to 17 years old, while the Al Baraem festivals targeted the students from 7 to 10 years old.
