HH Sayyid Dhi Yazan Visits Oman Sail

On Tuesday, His Highness Sayyid Dhi Yazan bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth visited the main office of Oman Sailing in Al mouj Muscat to benefit and learn about the Foundation’s National Contributions at various levels. Engineer Mohammed bin Salem Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Omani Tourism Development Corporation “OMRAN”, D. Khamis bin Salim Al Jabri, Oman Sailing CEO, HE Sheikh Rashad bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Sports and Youth, and Hashel Ben Obeid Al-Muraqi the Omani Tourism Development Company CEO (OMRAN) received His Highness.

During the visit, they presented a visual presentation outlining the Foundation’s mission to the revival of Omani maritime pride, promoting Oman’s name at international forums, and providing opportunities to prepare youth for serving their country for His Highness. Furthermore, the presentation discussed the framework for the institution in the line with the national priorities of the Oman vision 2040. Moreover, the strategic objectives at the level of sailing, economics, marketing, and international events and championships will be held in Oman by standards to achieve economic and social benefits.

As part of his tour, His Highness met the Olympic team seeking to qualify for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2021, in which His Highness praised their efforts to prepare. His Highness also met with nascent sailors on the level of the Gulf and Asia in the sailing sport. Moreover, persons with disabilities are currently learning to Oman Sailing within the “Sail Bahriya” program with the aim of form a national team that will represent Oman abroad.

Khamis bin Salim Al Jabri, CEO of Oman Sail, stated that the visit of His Highness is a great moral incentive for all employees to achieve their mission and pursue sustainable national development. He also expressed strong support for the Olympic team who is currently preparing to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
