Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Participates in EXPO 2020 Dubai

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth is participating in the pavilion of Sultanate of Oman at Expo 2020 Dubai. The ministry’s participation, which is represented by an Omani youth team, comes in four different activities during the exhibition period, which runs from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.

The Ministry is responsible for organizing educational trips to the pavilion for 128 competent young Omani men and women with distinctive skills and creativity. The Ministry is also in charge of displaying and selling artworks by Omani artists during the exhibition period in both the Omani pavilion’s sales outlet and the electronic platform, and boost ministry’s participation in the Innovation Week.

The first of these events was launched on October 17, 2021 with a delegation of 32 young women skilled in photography, Arabic calligraphy skills, entrepreneurs, and women with other different talents and achievements. The women’s delegation participated in the journey of competent women and university and college students of the Sultanate, to show what Omani women have accomplished today in various fields. The delegation shared their talents and achievements with visitors of the Sultanate’s pavilion, in addition to organizing the Fine Arts exhibition involving eight female artists from different governorates of the Sultanate. The Exhibition was implemented by the Ministry in cooperation with the General Commission of the Sultanate’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Omani Youth Day will be celebrated on October 26, in addition to the celebration of the 51st National Da. Also, the Innovation Week will be promoted during this participation, and the sisterly United Arab Emirates’ National Day will also be celebrated.

The second trip will be from 25th to 28th of October, with the participation of 42 young men and women in the fields of photography, instrument playing, Arabic calligraphy, fine art, street theater, and other different talents and achievements. The delegation will hold the “Magic of the East” concert, which will be performed by Omani youth who play musical instruments.

As for the third trip, it will take place from November 20th to 23rd of 2021, with the participation of a delegation of 18 young men and 18 young women, wo will participate in receiving the Oman Youth Ship, which will arrive at Dubai Tourism Port on November 21st. The youth delegation will also participate in the tour that will be held in the ship to view the photo gallery, after which the youth will celebrate the 51st Omani National Day with official delegation.

The Ministry will also participate in the events organized by the exhibition’s visual arts pavilion; where it will celebrate the National Day by displaying national artworks that highlight the Omani National Day, the achievements of the blessed Renaissance, and the elements of Omani culture.

As for the fourth trip, it will be during the period from 1st to 4th of December, with a delegation consisting of 10 male and female participants to join the UAE pavilion in celebrating the Emarati National Day, as well as visiting the pavilions participating in the exhibition. The fifth and final trip will be during the period from 5th to 8th of January 2022, with a delegation consisting of 8 young men and 8 young women, to attend the innovation exhibition, in coordination with the Tayseer platform.

In its participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai, the Ministry is counting on activating the framework of social responsibility for the private sector; as this participation counts as an achievement and growth of the economic, media, tourism and promotional gains for the Sultanate, where the Ministry signifies the existing cooperation between the public and private sectors in order to achieve the goals of the Oman Vision 2040.
